Safeguarding
The school aims to fulfil its duties to safeguard & promote the welfare of children/young people by:
- Creating and maintaining a safe learning environment for all children & young people
- Developing and implementing procedures to identify and report cases, or suspected cases, of abuse, including allegations against staff
- Working with other agencies to support children/young people who have been abused
- Raising awareness and understanding of child protection issues with staff and implement safe recruitment procedures
- Raising awareness and understanding of child protection issues with children/young people, equipping them with skills to keep them safe
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment;
- Preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
