It’s all kicking off at The Snaith School, Pontefract Road, Snaith.  Work is underway to construct a new, state of the art, all-weather 3G pitch which is expected to be completed by June 2021.

The pitch will be a massive asset to the school and the local community. It will be available for hire after 5pm and at weekends and school holidays with a key aim of the project to develop girls’ football, support disability sports in the area and promote physical well-being in our community through sport.  Leeds United have confirmed dates for a summer camp at the start of the school holidays (subject to COVID restrictions) which is an exciting opportunity for all local young footballers.

The new community venture will bring a high quality, safe area for footballers and other 3G pitch users and there will be new work opportunities created too, through both formal and volunteering routes.

The official launch date will be Saturday 24th July – save the date as we are planning a Family Fun Day to mark the occasion.

Funding for the pitch has been secured from the Football Foundation, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Goole  Fields Windfarm, Garfield Weston Foundation and Hull and East Riding Charitable Trusts well as fundraising donations received from Snaith Juniors and Goole Town Tigers Football Clubs and the school itself, and we thank all the parties involved in raising funding for the major project.
