Welcome
As a specialist Business and Enterprise College we pride ourselves on delivering cutting edge Business Education. The skills which students acquire during their Business lessons are not just theory based, they are designed to give them a dynamic advantage in the workplace once they leave education.
We were one of the first institutions to offer the new Business, Administration and Finance Diploma and lead the local cluster of schools for this. (This is an innovative course that was designed by business leaders and Universities).
KS4 Information
2012 Examination - This course is assessed by two examinations and a Controlled Assessment (12 hours research time and 3 hours to write a report on the findings.
Topics covered are:
- People in Business which looks at the work of the personnel department in recruiting, training, paying and motivating staff.
- Finance which looks at how businesses raise and handle money (cash flow forecasting, balance sheets and profit & loss accounts).
- Production investigates how things are manufactured.
- Marketing considers how businesses design a product, price it and then decide where to sell and advertise it.
Business Diploma: It consists of three main areas:
1). Principal Learning: This covers all you need to know about Business, Admin and Finance at the level you are studying.
2). Work Experience: On this Diploma course you will do 10 days of work experience.
3). Project: You will complete a project of your choice.
