Year 9

Welcome to Year 9.

Year 9 is a year of choices. 

During Year 9 students will be asked to choose those subjects that they wish to continue to GCSE level. Students are expected to consider their plans for the future, their individual likes and skills.  

Throughout the year there are also a number of fantastic opportunities to get fully involved in school life, helping students to make positive choices in all aspects of their lives.  

At the end of the year, pupils can look back on all they've achieved and begin to start planning for the future and all that it brings!

PSHCEE and ACE days

 We cover the following topics in PSHCEE in Year 9: 

• Substance education
• Enterprise activities for Children in Need
• Learn to Earn
• Careers education
• Conflict resolution
• Citizenship 

The following ACE Days take place in Year 9: 

• Shanty Towns
• Substance abuse; drug awareness
• Hull College visit 

Opportunities   

• Christmas reward trip to Xscape, Castleford
• Easter reward trip to Doncaster Dome
• Summer reward trip to AltonTowers
