Year 7

Welcome to Year 7.


Year 7 is an important year for pupils. It is different because it is the transition between primary school and secondary school needs to be as smooth as possible for the pupils. This is where they start their journey towards adult hood and they start to make new friendships and strengthen old ones. They begin to take on responsibility for their own actions.

Throughout the year there are a number of opportunities to get fully involved in school life. The first is the residential in the Autumn term where all pupils are encouraged to take part to get to to know one another and teachers in an informal atmosphere. It also gives them an opportunity to try new activities and learn new skills .Pupils are given the opportunity to get involved in inter-form competitions and raise money for charity.

Year 7 are regularly rewarded for good effort and hard work as well as having good attendance and being punctual. There are a variety of prize draws and rewards trips for pupils who take a consistently positive approach to school life.

At the end of the year, pupils are more confident and settled in school and begin Year 8 ready to face new challenges and experiences

  • Relationships
  • Healthy eating
  • Internet safety
  • Smoking and alcohol
  • Watch over me – everyday safety

The following ACE Days take place in Year 7:

  • Residential
  • Yorkshire wildlife
  • Whitby trip
