Relationships & Sex

PSHEE

All students take part in Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Education classes each Monday morning. Themes vary from self-esteem to drug awareness, relationships and financial awareness

School Nurse

The school nurse is available each Tuesday lunchtime to support students around a variety of issues. The service is FREE and confidential meaning that discussions are completely private unless a student is deemed to be in danger.
The drop-in now includes sexual health services such as condom distribution, chlamydia testing and pregnancy testing for all students Y9 and above. During Holiday periods, Kay Merrit offers a sexual health service which is accessed via a direct telephone line. She can visit localities to offer her support on a needs basis.

Pastoral Support

The Snaith School has a structured pastoral team headed by the Deputy Headteacher; Miss G Hill. Mrs Natalie Grant is the Pastoral officer in school who is available to support students who are withdrawn from classes or need more intense support with their learning.

Peer Mentoring

On transfer from Primary School, pupils are assessed to ascertain whether they may need peer support when they arrive at secondary school. Those in need are paired with a fully trained peer mentor who will support them for the first year of their secondary school career.
