Health

The Snaith School is committed to supporting and educating its student population around health issues.
The school currently offers:

School Nurse

The school nurse is available each Tuesday lunchtime to support students around a variety of issues. The service is FREE and confidential meaning that discussions are completely private unless a student is deemed to be in danger.

Immunisation programme

A full immunisation programme is available for all students at The Snaith School supported by the NHS. 

Assemblies
All students attend a weekly assembly where subjects such as health and wellbeing are regularly discussed.

PSHEE
All students take part in Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Education classes each Monday morning. Themes vary from self-esteem to drug awareness, relationships and financial awareness.

Health and Social Care Diploma
Students in year 10 are now offered the chance to study the Health and Social Care diploma on the school site. This is equivalent to 7 GCSE passes.

The Snaith School was awarded healthy school status in 2008.

We want all children and young people to be healthy and achieve at school and in life. We believe that by providing opportunities at school for enhancing emotional and physical aspects of health. In the longer term, this will lead to improved health, reduced health inequalities, increased social inclusion and raise achievement for all.

ACE Days (Alternative Curriculum Experience)

There are three ACE days per year, where timetables are collapsed to allow students to take part in Alternative Curriculum Education. Year 9 students take part in a drug awareness morning and Y7 students are educated around healthy eating.
